T-Pain Biography

T-Pain Biography

The American rapper and songwriter known as T-Pain was born Faheem Rashad Najam in 1985 in Tallahassee, Florida. Faheem’s earliest experiences in music were when a family friend used to allow him to spend time in his recoding studio; by the age of ten, Faheem had started writing and recording his own music.

After adopting the moniker T-Pain, Najam signed with Konvict Muzik and began to record his debut album. The result, Rappa Ternt Sanga, arrived in 2005 and rose into the top forty on the mainstream charts. The album spawned the hit singles “I’m Sprung” and “I’m N Luv (Wit a Stripper”), and set the stage for the follow-ups: Epiphany (2007), Thr33 Ringz (2008), and Revolver (2011.) Notable singles from T-Pain include: “Buy U a Drank” (featuring Yung Joc); “Bartender” (featuring Akon); “Can’t Believe It” (featuring Lil Wayne); “Chopped ‘n’ Skrewed” (featuring Ludacris); and “5 O’Clock” (featuring Wiz Kahlifa.) T-Pain has also contributed vocals to the Jamie Foxx hit “Blame It” and Kanye West’s “Good Life,” both of which earned him BET Awards and Grammy Awards for the collaboration.

T-Pain continues to perform and record. His next album, Stoicville, is expect for release in 2017.
